Bill ‘W’ Rogers and Bruce Finlay Sails

Good morning sailors

A spectacular full moon race with a stunning sunset, you’ve gotta love
Hamilton island.
The first race of the coveted Bruce Finlay Sails series  saw eleven highly
trained crews of extreme athletes pitting their skills against each other in
testing conditions, testing the depth at certain marks and leaving ‘marks’
during some close encounters. I believe those ‘marks’ should polish off
quite easily…

The Bill ‘W’ Rogers series concluded last week with an eventful last race
that saw the places change significantly from the previous weeks standings.
The finish had 3 boats all calling starboard on each other within 50m of the
line and 6 seconds separating the first 3 boats over the line. Cool Runnings
kept her cool to finish 5 seconds ahead of Xtsea with Adrenalin 1 second
behind her.
The results were

We were pleased to have so many of the extended family of Bill ‘W’ fly up to
Hamilton Island to present their beautiful trophy to Cool Runnings. It is
wonderful that the family and the club keep the memory of ‘W’ alive on the
island. We look forward to having you back again and again.

Have a great week, see you on the water next Wednesday.
