Good Morning All, I’m away for the next 3 or 4 weeks, there will be normal wed night sailing, Laurelle has kindly offered to do the ordering of food & grog etc, all should be as normal. The roster for the bar & bbq is Sunsail 1, followed by Sunsail 2, the Adrenalin and Hamilton Mentor. Any guests or non sailors are always welcome to cook or man the bar.

This week, as it’s into xmas, will have a red & green theme, and there will be a ham to raffle off. Stu will do his normal, excellent job, and dress up as well…..

Twilight Racing.

Good Morning All, only 2 twilights to go until Santa fills your socks with goodies. The bbq & bar this week is courtesy of Sunmaid, they didn’t make it last week.

Unfortunately, it’s vale Don McLean, of Bowen, who passed away last sat evening. Don was well into his 90’s and has suffered lately from cancer.

Don was here for the inaugural race week, and everyone since, only missing this year due to health. He was a competitive sailor, and often crewed on boats, lately turning up as a spectator. I first met Don in the early 80’s, he bought a Noelex 20, which he raced up & down the coast, always with the same crew, always happy and smiling. His 3 sons were here this year for race week, Michael on the SB3’s, Crazy and Lach cruising on other boats.

I last saw him in the Wesley hosp about a month ago, and despite the prognosis, there was his big smile and happy, outstretched hand, chatting away. One of life’s true gentlemen.

Broad reaches Don, his funeral is in Bowen this Friday.

Good Afternoon All, please find attached results from last week / month. Julie Meynell from the Rogers family sends her best wishes and thanks to all at the club. They were unable to make it this year, but insisted on sponsoring the month again, and they will definitely be here next year as it is the 10^th anniversary.

Your erstwhile handicapper has been in hospital, has 35 stitches in his mouth, no steak for him tmrw night, rum only, and now is probably a good time to initiate discussion re handicaps. Just kidding, I think you know my thoughts on handicaps and twilight races.

Many thanks for all who helped out for the wedding party last week, HIE, Carissa, Lissa, Hans, the bbq boys, Laurelle, Georgina, it sounds like it was a good night.

Thanks too, to Josh & Jody for giving the CYC the opportunity to make a quid for the club.

The audited figures are finally back from the accn’t for last year, anyone is welcome to view them, please feel free to call me.

The bbq & bar roster this week goes to Sunmaid.

Please remember, no race fees, no result, please direct all free drinks to the secretary, all complaints to the Commodore.

Good Afternoon All, here is last weeks results.

Some general notes of info..

Rowen Quinn is looking at manufacturing the new roof for the start boat.

Brett Childs has all the other maint in hand.

For the bbq this week, Peter Teakle and the HI Mentor crew are doing the bbq, Georgina & Laurelle are doing the bar.

This wed night, Josh Harrington has 60 odd guests for his pending wedding, no pun intended but some of them will come from SA, so they may be odd, and some soap dodgers too…. Would everyone please make these guests welcome. There is extra grog ordered, double the salads plus one, Josh is liasing with Carissa re tables, chairs and eskies.

Last week there were no records of boats paying their race fees. If you didn’t pay your fees please do so this week, if you did, please let the girls know so the note can be made. The handicapper & commodore are checking each week, there will be no result if fees are not paid.

As we are having more visitors each week, please encourage all these to join the club, even as a social member, it’s pretty cheap.

Good Morning All, sorry for a bit of a late send out, been a bit busy.

For the roster this afternoon, I have lost track a bit, sorry, but I think it’s Spirit of the Maid for bbq & bar. Next week Peter Teakle is back and he has volunteered to cook the bbq etc.

With rising costs of food etc we have had to put up the meal prices, as of today they will now be $15 each. You can thank Julia Gillard and the Greens and their carbon tax for price increases.

Morning All, apparently Walshy announced last week Adrenalin was up for the bbq this week, so that’s the go, sorry, my mistake.

Lorraine Camm & Georgie are doing Tandoori chicken for a special this week, there will be steaks avail if you wish, but come along for something special.

Racing tonight!

Hello Sailors!

With some fine weather upon us there will surely be a “Fantasea” club championship pointscoring twilight race this evening! Log on with the CYC committee start vessel on VHF 73 for up to date start times! Prizes are Robert Oatley and Wild Oats fine wines.

Don’t forget to fly your Burgee!

The BBQ afterwards at CYC club house shall be a little bit fancy tonight with a generous donation of 50 premium Salmon steaks by club Commodore John Walsh for our culinary indulgence.

Hope to see you and your guests there! Don’t forget to grab some raffle tickets!

Tonight’s Bar and barbecue will be hosted by the awesomeness that is “Team Sunsail”.
